Jackie's Forget Me Nots

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @caffeinated reviewer.
It's a chance to share what we've been doing over the past week
and showcase books and things we have received.

It was a shock to my system when I woke up this morning to see there was snow on the ground! I thought mother nature is joking right? It has been snowing all day! I love snow but not in September! …try to remember the kind of September when grass was green and grain leaves were yellow.

I tried the It Frappuccino from Starbucks yesterday, to celebrate the release of IT Chapter 2! I really liked it. If you want to order the IT Frappuccino the barista likely won’t know what that is, so you have to order a ‘Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with strawberry purée on top’.
Today I went to see It: Chapter 2 in the theatre and I enjoyed it. I think I am growing a thicker skin towards “horror” movies. Although some of it may disturb me It wasn’t bad at all. I actually found I could laugh at parts of it. Did you know Stephen King himself has a cameo? He appears as a pawnshop grumpy old shopkeeper who sells Bill his rusty childhood bicycle. He was good and I was surprised at how many lines he had and longer time in front of the camera than let’s say J.K Rowling had in Harry Potter. It made me chuckle.

I am holding a read-a-long for It in October so I thought seeing the movie would add to the experience to get inspired and motivated. Who is with me? Who else has seen It: Chapter 2 already? I encourage you to watch It wherever it may be.

I’ve seen snow photos on Instagram from other bloggers I follow and it’s hard to believe. In California it was in the 90s last week😁

Me too. I’m working on getting through Savior first but I started The Turn of the Key and I got to the part where the nanny is getting a tour of her room. She is wierded out with the technology as am I.

The Frappuccino hit the spot and I hope you try it. I am glad you liked the It movie and that at least someone else did. I did too. Poor Stanley. I hope you will try reading the book with me starting on October 1st. Are you in?

Thanks. I love the snow too more than rain. Today it’s still snowing like mad but it is so bright and white unlike the sky which is grey 😦

  5. *Flora* says:

So when does the snow usually start falling in Calgary? Obviously by your reactions, not this early.
I remember reading IT when back when I was a teenager in 1986; bloody good story but I couldn’t watch the films now. 😉
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, Jackie, despite the snow. Here’s my Monthly Wrap Up – Sunday Post

Snow usually doesn’t fall until the end of October. Precisely on Halloween

  6. Snow?! Seriously? Snow? That really IS early… Oh well… break out some holiday reads and roll with it, I guess?

I don’t think I’ll ever watch the remakes of IT. I’m haunted by the original and all the nightmares, lol.

I am just preparing myself for the book actually 🙂 So far so good *fingers crossed

  7. Greg says:

Snow in September is way too early (even if it is late September). I agree!

An IT Frappucino? That cracks me up! 🙂

What? Snow??? Where are you living Jackie???

  9. Molly's Book Nook says:

I didn’t really find It or It: Chapter 2 that scary. I thought it was a bit more comical. I think it’s because they both rely on what the KIDS are afraid of and I’m just not afraid of those things? lol
