Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

The Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @caffeinated reviewer.
It’s a chance to share what we’ve been doing over the past week
and showcase books and things we have received.

I got my hearing aids custom fit for me this week! I am thrilled to be able to listen to Youtube and other things like Netflix and amazon prime movies without disturbing anyone else because it allows me to program my computer\ TV so that I’m the only one who can hear it through my hearing aids! Sort of like earbuds in an iPod. It’s cool. I’m still getting used to them.

I finished watching Good Omens on prime and I have to rescind my statement about it being boring. I actually loved it! I mean what’s not to love? I guess I thought it was going to be some retelling of the bible about good and evil and the antichrist and all that jazz. Clearly, I was mistaken. It is funny but not lewd cause the actual story involves an eleven-year-old boy whom Aziraphale and Crowley are in search of. A nun convent got “the baby” mixed up and was given to the wrong parents. I loved the garden of Edens depiction in the middle of the desert and The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter and the Ritz and the crepes and Crowley’s charming car and wit and the fact that it is co-written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. There are so many things to like about it that I don’t need to convince you to watch it but I dare you. Aziraphale is a good angel and Crowley is a bad one who is of the fallen angel clan before the beginning of creation. Anyway, I really want to read the book now.

I blame Twitter for discovering something else that I want to get. Has anyone heard or read The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg? It sounds really good anyway.

I’ve enjoyed Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 so far and the mystery about those elusive letters ‘CLM’ and the 3 trinity rings is hopefully revealed to us this week. Some people are claiming it has to do with Rick Grimes and Jadis the garbage lady. 960x0 We see the return of Dwighty boy who is still searching for his wife Sherry in Humbug’s Gulch. In The Walking Dead, I am disappointed that Rick left as did Michonne. All my favourite characters are gone from that show except Daryl Dixon and Carole. I can’t stand the Whisperers.

I picked up a few books from the library that I plan on reading.

Nautier and Wilder by Lora Leigh and Jaci Burton. Because I loved Riding the Night (my review)  by Jaci Burton. It was the first book I read by this author and I thought she was very good. Of course, you have to like the genre

Supernatural Born Killers A Pepper Martin Mystery #9 by Daniels, Casey

Dead Man Talking A Pepper Martin Mystery #5 by Daniels, Casey

Graveyard Shift A Pepper Martin Mystery #10 by Daniels, Casey

Well, that is all I can remember to include this week. Besides not having read anything, it’s the last day of June!

  1. Those hearing aids sound cool! Glad you got them! And if that’s the book with a girl on the cover whose face is split in parts, then I just read a review that says it’s amazing! I plan on reading it

I finished watching Good Omens this morning. I loved the book and am happy that they did it justice.

My bulk standard hearing aids aren’t that fancy; I’m very jealous, Jackie, your new ones sound fantastic!

Hope you have a great week and enjoy your reads.

  7. I was so glad you ended up liking Good Omens. I had fun watching it. I am a huge fan of Doctor Who, and there are a ton of Easter eggs in there for it, plus I like the changes made to this adaptation.

  8. Your new hearing aids sound cool. I didn’t even realize you could get ones that could do that. I need to tell my husband about those! Good Omens is on my watch list so I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it. Have a great week!

Yes, I went to Chinook Shopping center, to a nice clinic and got my hearing tested for free and it was recommended I needed hearing aids! I am so glad I had my ears tested that day. I knew my right ear was off, that is why I wanted my ears checked. Maybe your husband needs a hearing exam?

That’s so great about your hearing aids! I haven’t seen Good Omens but if you enjoyed it as much as you say it must be good I’ll watch it soon. The Walking Dead is my best friend’s favorite show but it’s true, they are constantly changing characters.
I hope you enjoy the books you took out of the library.
    Have a great week!
