This is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy, but kept up by Lynn’s Book Blog.

This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined list, choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.

This weeks theme

“If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear!” – A horror cover

This weeks theme reminds me of something out of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in fact, so that is what I am going to use as my feature. I recently finished listening to the audio by the Listening Library and narrated by Jim Weiss. I loved it and I probably could listen to it again and again. Moreover, there are a lot of Frankenstein audiobook covers so instead of showing different book covers why not Audiobook covers? There are 53 shown here and the numbers are in the caption.

Wow! What a HUGE selection of covers – and an excellent choice of book, which is clear by the fact that Lynn has also gone for Frankenstein this week – clearly great minds think alike:). Numbers 24, 31 and 50… those are the standout covers for me as they more or less depict the class monster face we are used to see. But it’s the terrible look of sadness that snags my attention. I started reading this one a while ago, but couldn’t get very far – I knew it ended badly and couldn’t bear the suffering or the very graphic descriptions.

Whoa, congrats on this post, 53 covers must have taken a lot of time! I like 40 and 49😁

Ya well I had nothing better to do 🙂 WordPress wouldn’t allow me to use the gallery feature for some reason. I’ve had problems with that before though and I imagine it is because of the many pictures? It should have still worked and I was pretty bummed about not being able to use it. Oh well.

I like No.5/11 and 13 – great choice and well done posting all of these covers. I must admit I only went with 10 – there were literally hundreds to choose from although obviously a lot were very similarly.

  5. What a great choice, there are certainly plenty of options! I’m really drawn to 29 & 39, though a lot of these are pretty great.

  6. Wow, there are a shocking number of audiobook covers for this. And a lot of audio covers are notoriously cheesy, so I’m surprised there are so many good ones here! I like the FrontPage Publishing edition.
