Stacking The ShelvesThe Sunday Post | It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Oh boy, I’ve had an eye-opener of a week.

My back pain on the Richter scale was a 9.5 after physiotherapy on Monday. My therapist told me what I needed to do and why. Because I sit at my computer for hours, I am supposed to bend backwards in the opposite direction. Sounds easy enough. Lying on my stomach, bend backwards pushing up with your arms. In yoga, it’s called the upward facing dog posture. Normally it’s not a problem. I love stretching that way, even reading in that posture.

Only it hurt like a son of a bitch! I could barely walk after that. Balling my eyes out I slowly made my way home. It felt like my bottom torso and upper back was going to break in half.

I had a huge cry though, almost as loud as the pain.

Anyway, TGIF. I’m managing with Dr. Ho’s pain relief therapy belt, otherwise, I would go insane. I mean I can still walk but a lot slower. I had to walk with my hands behind my back coming back from the fitness center on Tuesday.

If I don’t walk every day, I won’t get better so as long as I keep breathing, I will keep on walking.

I watched another episode of Fear the Walking Dead. (I Lose People…#15) What is up with that black witchy woman? She cray-cray. Jimbo finally gives his secret beer recipe up to Sarah.

Stacking the Shelves & It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Uhmmm, scary, paranormal fantasy – like hello, cuz Halloween duh 🎃 Seriously.

Penguin Random House offered a FREE audio download of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, so I snagged that in conjunction with Kiersten Whites The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein they were promoting in that audio. I’m also reading Under My Hat Tales from the Cauldron by various authors but that’s going at a snail’s pace. One short story at a time. Time to step up my reading game.

I received a couple E-arcs from NetGalley
Driven to Distraction by Lori Foster | NO ONE CANCELS CHRISTMAS by Zara Stoneley |
The Illustrated History of the Snowman by Bob Eckstein

I finished and reviewed Gone Hunting (Weird Girls #0.3) by Cecy Robson.
Aric fancies Celia Wird a golden tigress whom he comes across while hunting a herd of Elk in the woods of Colorado. When the magic spell of a white witch fails to keep Celia safe, she wakes up in a mountain forest, alone and naked, miles away from her home in New Jersey 2 years in the past!

In this beginnings novella, we have Witches, Weres, Weird girls and certain creatures that go bump in the night: scorpions, skinwalkers, owls and a Hag called Mimi. She’s awesome.

On Kindle Unlimited I added
Sweet Christmas Kisses: A Sweet Holiday Anthology by various authors

That’s all for this week. October is coming. I hope Y’all are good. Did you look at all the pumpkins at Walmart?

  4. Back pain is the worst. I’m lucky not to have had it too much. I can’t even the Christmas stuff. I’m currently focused on pumpkins and leaves. I hope this week is much better. Anne – Books of My Heart
