Down The TBR Hole is a bookish meme created by Lia @ Lost In A Story. Each Saturday, I’ll share ten books that have been on my to-be-read shelf the longest and then decide whether to keep them or let them go. I like adding books to my TBR shelf but sometimes I never get to read the blurb so this is a good opportunity to take a closer look and then decide if you want to keep it or not.

I've added a linky list
for those who wish to share
their posts with other participants
 HERE

Here are the rules to follow:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

    Alright, let’s do this!

The Books

Date added to my TBR: Nov 12, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: Sci-fi is not my cup of tea, but I am familiar with Maria Snyders #Study novels however I don’t think I would like it.
Verdict: Will Not Keep

Date added to my TBR: Nov 12, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: I want to read this one. It’s about connecting to the internet via a feed in your brain. It sounds interesting enough, and I am intrigued.
Verdict: Will Keep

Date added to my TBR: Nov 12, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: This one is a science fiction/dystopia as well, and I am never going to read it.
Verdict: Will Not Keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 13, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: I have never read a James Patterson novel so Idk. It sounds complicated, and families often can be, but I just don’t want to learn about it especially at Christmastime.
Verdict: Will not keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: It has to do with Jack the Ripper, but people (Sasha Alsberg) says it’s hilarious and fun.
Verdict: Will keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: I’ve had this book on my GoodReads shelf for 7 years, and I still hope to read it someday. It sounds like she is a tortured and misunderstood soul. What else is new.
Verdict:
Will keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: It sounds terrifying, and it reminds me of when Ginny Weasley was possessed by Tom Riddle’s book. This man, Sam Travis is controlled by some old journal.
Verdict: Will not keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: I’m not a fan of dystopia like I said but watching science fiction movies are okay. I also am not familiar with the newer video games after Nintendo 64 lol. Besides I can watch the film now.
Verdict: Will not keep

Date added to my tbr: Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: It’s a real shame I haven’t read this yet. I’ve always liked the name.
Verdict: I am keeping it.

Date added to my TBR Nov 14, 2011
My thoughts after reading the blurb: Omg! Metamorphosis sounds so interesting! I wish I had read it growing up in school. It’s about transformation and human feelings of inadequacy, separation and guilt.
Verdict: Will keep

So I am holding five and taking five away. That’s all for this week

Have you read any of the books I listed above?

  1. You’re Killing me Smalls! You got rid of Ready Player One and kept Metamorphosis?!?! Hahah I loved RPO but there is a LOT of random 80’s references so if you don’t know a lot of those and if you don’t like Dystopians than that makes sense 😂 I hated Metamorphosis when I read it in School, but I know a lot of people like it 😂 So I completely disagree with your choices tho I understand them 😂😂

I know lol. I lived through the 80’s so I think I would like it but if I can watch it on TV I would rather. Anyway.

I saw that you read Don Quixote 🙂 that’s so cool. I’ve wanted it for a long time. Same with Ivanhoe. I love heroes.
