Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

Thanks to Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday What Are You Reading for allowing me to participate and share a post about the books I am adding to my shelf, to catch up with the news and write about the books I’m reading.

I added one book to my shelf this week The Lion’s Share (A Wildcats novel #1) by Rachel Vincent. I think the cover is gorgeous and I like reading about Werecats

On my Kindle

Outrun The Wind was a DNF.
It’s the second book I’ve ever received from NetGalley. The plot was confusing, and I was shocked by Atalanta’s character. She was a blatant liar who accepted the admiration and praise for something she never did. Kahina seemed to hate her even before the incident. So we have a liar and a hater. Although Atalanta was a skilled archer in a group of men who hunted Artemis’ Boar, it was Kahina who killed it with her knife. That pretty much did it for me, but I continued and still could not get my head wrapped around the confusion.

Kindle Unlimited

The Wedding from Hell, Part 1: The Rehearsal Dinner by J.R. Ward and Part 2: The Reception. Part 3: Exclusive excerpt of Consumed.

The Wedding From Hell is an exclusive prequel to the upcoming standalone suspense Consumed (available in October 2018) taking us back to where it all started between arson investigator Anne Ashburn and ‘bad boy’ firefighter Danny Maguire.

This should be fun lol.

I’ve been staying inside because of the smoke from the fires burning out of control in British Columbia. The province was in a state of emergency this week. President Trump says Lumber imports partly to blame for CA fires. Because of Canadian exported lumber? What? He should not be pointing fingers at a time like this.
Regardless I can’t be running in that heavy smoke hanging over my head. I’m already susceptible to coughing. So I did not run every day.

What I watched on Netflix

Season 3 of Outlander was so good. If you have read Voyager (Outlander #3) then you know what this season is all about. Loved it! Did anybody else watch it? What did you think? Did you enjoy it? I think it is my favourite out of them all. Season 3 is about the reunion of the centuries, and sailing in a ship to find young Ian who was kidnapped and taken to Jamaica. Sassenach is a trained surgeon who is employed to rescue a boat-full of men who have contacted Typhoid Fever and gets separated from Jamie, but they find each other on some strange Island. So good!

  3. I watched the first half of s1 Outlander and while I enjoyed it well enough, it just didn’t grip me the way it has others. *shrugs*
    Glad you enjoyed it though!

Thanks, Nicci! Honestly, I didn’t quite like the first and second season as much either.

  4. It seems like a lot of people are reading, “What if your life was based on Lies” I’ll have to get to it. Right now I’m reading a Ruth Ware novel.

Yes, I see that. You can blame it on NetGalley lol

  5. I’ve actually seen Outlander. That’s rare because I’m terrible at watching TV. The show is fun, but I don’t think I’ll ever read the books because they’re huge. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

Yes they are but Davina Porter does such a good job and never say never right? You may someday

  6. I enjoyed Lion’s Share. I like all of her werecat novels. I keep looking at Kindle Unlimited but with my review stack, I don’t think I’d make good use of another source of books. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I like Lion’s Share cover and if this turns out to be something I enjoyed reading then I will get the others in the series.
