Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

I have new books on my shelf to showcase this week.

The new books I got were written by these amazing authors
—Jennifer Armentrout, Colleen Houck and Anne Bishop.

–Because I enjoyed reading The Return(Titan, #1), I wanted the entire set and nowhere but Amazon had them. The Titan Novels are a New Adult paranormal spin-off series to the best selling Covenant series.

–The final release in Colleen Houck’s Tigers Saga was released! I needed Tiger’s Dream in my life. I waited years for this book and to see the thickness and the beautiful cover were well worth the wait, making my collection complete. I LOVE IT!

–I also picked up the second novel in Anne Bishops Others series called Murder of Crows. I have to be honest; I thought the first book Written in Red wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. I mean it wasn’t my favourite paranormal story that I’ve ever read, but I am willing to give it a second chance. Its quite complicated and my concentration isn’t that good, but we’re looking positively forward to reading them.

Happy Mother’s Day!

It has been 10 days since the dentist pulled one of my back upper teeth because it was basically dead and causing trouble so I just wanted it gone, to heck with a root canal, although I am afraid the dentist might want to do a root canal on another one. I suggested taking all my teeth out and getting a partial plate or even a set of dentures. Ha! both the orthodontist and dentist did not agree with me.
About 12 years ago something terrible happened. I was kicked in the jaw. I blame that traumatic blow for why a couple of my teeth were broken and why I need to have them pulled now. Ugh!
The stitches have dissolved and the hole is pretty well healed but I’m still having to flush it out with sea salt and warm water. In the interim, I’ve been enjoying amazing delicious smoothies with nut butter, almond milk and frozen berries. yum

Shows I’ve loved on Netflix

The Shadowhunters, OMG Lilith!
The 100, OMG Skaikru!
The New Legends of Monkey kicks hilarious ass!
Oh ya, and The Chef’s Table came recommended.

The New Legends of Monkey is a new take on the story of the monkey king. Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka, the monk, are on their journey to restore the world. It’s so funny. Its hilarity is obnoxious. I am only watching it because of Chai Hansen, the actor who plays the monkey. He is gaining popularity these days. I can’t wait for the next season already.

I saw Chai Hansen first in The 100 as Ilian, a member of Trishanakru, then on Shadowhunters as Jordan Kyle the praetor lupus cult leader werewolf who stalks Simon. Wow! He is so incredible in these shows, and I am happy for him.

I also bought Fear the walking dead on youtube. One cast member of The Walking Dead, Morgan, crosses over to this show. Fear the walking dead is alright so far but some members of the cast have to tell their story, and they give a pretty watered down version which doesn’t make sense. Also, Negan from TWD is still alive!! Grrr. I hate that guy for being the most prominent prick.

If I could watch the final season of The Originals, life would be complete. But Alas! I have to wait until it broadcasts on Youtube. It’s so frustrating to see the Tweets about in on Twitter when I can’t even watch it ;(. Anyway —

I really enjoyed The Others series. I love the setting – every time I read one, visiting the Courtyard is like visiting friends. Have a great week 🙂

Oh thank you! I’m glad you liked it.

I’m scrambling to watch all of the new seasons for shows I enjoy and keeping uo with new ones. That’s not including all of the movies. LOL I’ve had to have 2 teeth surgically removed after they broke during root canals. And the cost of those crowns are insane! Glad you’re healing nicely. Enjoy your shows and books:)

    1. Jackie says:

Oh wow, that is so unfair. Ya, I don’t want a root canal, I feel I’d rather get them out of my mouth sooner rather than always having problems with them. Having no teeth isn’t all that bad anyway IMO.

Happy Mothers Day! I’ve heard a lot about the Others series, but haven’t tried ’em yet. And those Houck covers are nice- I’ve seen those around a few times and always admired them.

Chai Hansen was great on The 100 and I used to watch him on Mako Mermaids, an Aussie show, a few years ago, He was fun on that as well.

I’m not sure how I feel about Fear the Walking dead so far- I kinda like the new cast members but the cliffhanger from last season at the dam- I wish they wouldn’t take all season to show us what happened afterwards!

Ya, I know right? I hope FTWD continues although this season doesn’t seem to be very good so far

  4. Aw, I hope your tooth (hole..) heals soon. Teeth problems suck. Have a good week 🙂

    1. Jackie says:

      Thanks Evelina!

Chai Hansen Is doing really good right now. I love him on Shawdowhunters and the The 100 too. Definitely need to check out The Legens of the Monkey Key now too. So sorry to hear about your teeth. As someone who wears dentures, it’s no fun at all. But it is nice to have perfect straight teeth though. 😉 I hope you get better with the teeth and they figure out the best way to help you.
    Have a fantastic week. 🙂

    1. Jackie says:

oh, thank you so much. My Dentists says the same thing but Idk. My boyfriend lived without teeth.

  6. Happy mother’s day! I’m sorry to hear about your dental work. That’s not fun.

    1. Jackie says:

I have to be put under so it wasn’t bad at all really. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!

  7. The Others is one of my favorite series ever, so I hope you are able to get into the second book. Anne

    1. Jackie says:

Thanks, me too! 🙂 Thanks for visiting and I hope you are having a wonderful Mother’s Day.

  8. I love The Other series but still need to read #5 so I can start the spin-off. I am liking Fear the Walking Dead more this year than ever. If they would get rid of Madison I might be happy. My husband and I said last night if they ever kill off Morgan, we’ll probably stop watching. Lenny James is so awesome!

    1. Jackie says:

I agree about Morgan being awesome but I don’t think they’ll write Madison off because, her daughter, but irdk. Everyone seems to enjoy The Others so I will keep on reading. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. I love Shadowhunters! I’ve held off on watching S3 as I like to binge them and can’t handle cliffhangers, lol. I’ll wait until I have them all to inhale.
I’m enjoying The 100 but I’ve just started S3. Hopefully by the time I’m caught up I’ll have all of S5 to binge watch too 😀

    1. Jackie says:

Absolutely. I feel the same way. It’s a bummer waiting
