Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

¶ I watched Anne on Netflix this week. It’s based on Anne of Green Gables, and I loved it! I didn’t know anything about this story before, but I like the show! Season One comprises seven episodes. I was surprised that I fell in love with the little orphan girl played by Amybeth McNulty. She is adorable in her own nerdy way. It’s her freckles and red hair 🙂
I can’t wait for Season Two. The networks assume we’ll still want to watch after waiting so long but that’s not always the case is it? They ruin everything by making us wait ≅ I’m spoiled, aren’t I ¿

¶ Also because Angela’s Ashes has been on my TBR shelf for awhile, I decided finally, to listen to the audiobook. Unfortunately, it isn’t at all the same as the paperback version I have on my TBR shelf!

¶ I received an email from some author Brett Arquette, I’d never heard of before, saying I could download his book, Operation HailStorm for free. I did some investigating on Goodreads and judging by the many comments, this author is spamming them, and it isn’t professional to spam their inbox with a free book. Whatever. It’s free. They could at least read it. But he goes on to say in his emails that he wants us to leave a review of his book everywhere like Amazon. Has anyone read it?

Marshall Hail was a husband, a father, a Physics Nobel prize winner and industrial billionaire. But when Hail’s family was killed in a terrorist attack, he became a deadly predator and redirected his vast industrial assets toward one goal, removing every person on the FBI’s Top 10 Terrorist list. With the help of his MIT colleagues, Hail designed and built a devastating arsenal of attack drones of all shapes and sizes that are flown by the nation’s best young gamers. The world will come to realize that Marshall Hail possesses the capability of killing anyone, anywhere, at any time, unleashing an operation so disturbing that the CIA has named it Operation Hail Storm.

¶ Besides that, my Valentines Day was blue. Wah. Oh, and I have a new riddle

Who was the world’s first carpenter?
Eve. Because she made Adam’s banana stand.

bada-bing, bada-boom. Lol haha believe it, or not this is a quote taken from Pierce Brown’s book, Golden Son.

Well, that’s all for this week guys, I wish it was more productive, love and blessings.

I’ve heard Anne with an E is pretty good. And you’re right, waiting form the next season is tough when you really like a show! I have that problem with a few shows where the wait might be a year or more. However will I remember lol?

Hope you have a good reading week. 🙂

        O’rly? I haven’t heard. I’m going to google it right now. . .

  2. Oh yeah, I remember that Hailstorm dude. It is spam, but I have to admire him that he actually got away with it somewhat. I didn’t read it, because it’s not my kind of book, but I got the message. The funny thing is that once I got to the message it was deleted (maybe flagged as spam), but the thing is – the message remains in your email. So I suppose a lot of people did download it after all. I wonder how he’s doing with the book xD

Really? I think it’s spam too. Honestly he should be more grateful.

  3. Yeah, that kind of spam kind of pisses me off! I don’t know why authors do that – we have other books to read, and sometimes, we even have to adult without a book in our hands *sighs*
I laughed out loud at the riddle from Golden Son – I had forgotten about that completely 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

      Thanks Lexxie! You too!

That show is on my watchlist! I heard many great things about it. I am sorry for the spamming dude. It doesn’t look like my kind of book.
Have a great week and happy reading!

I got that too. I didn’t even check out the book. Spamming is a no-no for me. I love that quote and hope to get to Golden Son in the near future. A great series!

Thanks. It is spam, but I figure if he’s smart he’ll realize, eventually, that he has to pay for good PR and promote his book like every other author.

  6. I get spam from authors pretty often. It’s almost always for books that don’t interest me, so I just delete the email and don’t look at the book. Have a great week!

That’s good ok then. I won’t feel so bad for doing that then.

  7. I loved Anne of Green Gables and I think this show sounds cool. I think I may have gotten that email as well but the book doesn’t interest me.

I’m glad to hear you like Anne of Green Gables. I never read the book but I assume the show is the same storyline. It’s really good.

I love Anne of Green Gables. I watched the adaptation from back in the 80s with Megan Follows (which was wonderful). I was thinking of watching the new one too. Glad you liked it!

Thanks, I wouldn’t have been interested in the early adaptation but I am now 🙂
