I subscribed to Topbox after hearing about it on youtube from Karina Nicole who was doing a comparison review of Ipsy vs Topbox. I had never heard of it before. But this beauty subscription is intended for Canadians and for that, I just had to try it. I love Ipsy, but there is still a shipping cost.

With Topbox, shipping is free, and the monthly cost is only $12 +tax=12.60!!

I received my first monthly subscription box in October! I was a little confused with the order. I thought I was getting one package. Instead, they sent me two. I didn’t even realize I ordered two, but I guess I did by mistake. I don’t know if the tube packaging is a permanent thing, but that is what the top box was. Beauty products in a tube cylinder!? I hate being wasteful, and the cardboard tube seems a bit excessive unless I found another use for them. Anyway, remind me to get the eco-friendly packaging next time.

I was shocked at the quality of the beauty products in both of them. I loved the Halloween Edition which came with false eyelashes. I’m sad to say I ruined them though but I kept the case and made an eyeshadow palette out of it. I trimmed the eyelashes just a tad like they say, but after wearing them, I went to clean them and that was it. It did not end well.Do not soak them in coconut oil and water guys! I couldn’t get the glue to come off!
Those pearlescent beads are lovely. They are anti-aging and hydrating, and I am all about that. I love the skin&Co face toner as well. I love spraying and hydrating my face. I am not good at applying a wing eyeliner, but I guess I have no more excuse not to try. I hate messing up my eye makeup which almost always happens. I can’t remember what the Ei Mei face mask felt like, but I used it and haven’t broken out in any way shape or form. I actually haven’t found a sheet mask that I didn’t like yet. So. I’m not much into nail polish right now, but it is always nice to keep adding to my collection, although I don’t know if I will ever use this black nail polish.

I just wanted to finish formatting this post to publish because I drafted it a long time ago and we are now in December. Agh! I know I haven’t been keeping up with my blog so today I’m on a blogging streak lol. This will be my third blog post in a row, and I’m enjoying myself so there 🙂

For November I don’t even want to go into detail about. Apparently, I need a 3 month trial period just to get a feel for how this subscription service works because I attempted to customize my own box and failed miserably. I got 3 Smashbox primers, and they were all sample size. So yay. I was not impressed with those at all.

For December, I got two mineral peel face sprays that I absolutely love from O.R.G, a dry shampoo, an eyebrow gel, and a 3 amigos eyeshadow trio from the Beauty Crop.

  1. I use to subscribe to Topbox a few years ago but ended up canceling my subscription as it felt like every other month I was getting repeats. This always seems like a hit or miss.

Topbox is still fairly new to me so we shall see. I was really happy with my December box and I did switch to the eco green friendly packaging. Instead of the cardboard tube , it comes in a purple foil envelope exactly the same as Ipsy actually and a cute little see thru hanging mesh bag with all the samples inside. I really like it.
