Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer aka Kimberley.

This week I finished The Madman’s Daughter and only gave it 3  stars. I was able to get the audiobook from the library.

I liked it but I had a hard time visualizing the Island and surrounding village where the animals/creatures/humans lived. The voyage on the ship was cool but I am not familiar with H.G. Wells classic ‘The Island of Dr. Moreau’ from which The Madman’s Daughter is inspired from.

What I watched

the-originals-season-4-poster

In the gut-wrenching season finale of The Originals, my heart sank at the inevitable breakup of the clan Mikealson. In order to save Hope from the Hollow, Klaus, Rebekah, Cole, and Elijah and Hailey, are posed a sentence to never be together again. Harsh. I fucking hate The Hollow bitch. It appears that she’s destroyed everything and I’m like “God I hope not”. I was happy to see Cole buying an engagement ring for Davina Claire!? Also Rebekah and Marcel together?!! At least some things ended on a happy note.

I probably shouldn’t have bought magnetic lashes from One Two Cosmetics because they were really expensive AND when I went to open the case, one of the lashes was stuck in the crack. It looks like a freaky spider! Somehow it had gotten loose and I couldn’t get it out. Being afraid I would wreck them, (which I did anyway) I phoned the company, and the girl I talked to on the phone was so nice, she said she would send me a free set of lashes at no additional cost! Well, that was so worth it! I was going to return the faulty eyelashes because of the one eyelash that got stuck in the crack (see above), but instead, I get to keep it, on top of getting a free set, which I am waiting for with bated breath so Yay!

KETO UPDATE

For those of you who don’t know, I started a Ketogenic diet/lifestyle about a month ago. It’s going pretty good but I am not losing the pounds fast enough. I think I’m shrinking slowly and I feel okay but still, I haven’t gone to see the doctor yet. I’ve lost 10 pounds since I started and I want to lose 30 more. (I will post some pictures when I feel more confident.) I have been intermittent fasting in order to reach my goal which means eating only in a 6-8 hour window every day. Furthermore, sometimes I eat only one meal a day and drink coffee, water, or tea without sugar of course. I enjoyed this salad with ground hamburger and cheese and an avocado, radish chips, and made some more mummy dogs.

  1. Magnetic lashes, how do they work? Awesome that you got a second set though. And have a great reading week 🙂

Hi Evelina . I left a link so you can get a good idea how exactly they work. They are very delicate and easy to ruin. I ruined 3 sets/pairs of eyelashes so far. They snap together on top of and under your own eyelash The case comes with 4 pairs. 2 for the right eye and 2 for the left. I only have 1 left pair that I actually can wear that looks good. I love them but I need to be more gentle with them , that’s all. I am thinking of getting the bold set of lashes eventually. I have the accent lashes as well but I definitely have to put mascara on before I use them.

      1. Sounds pretty ingenious, never knew that existed! And no glue needed. Pretty cool! I’ve never used fake lashes myself.

  2. I’m surprised you’re not losing on the ketogenic..hidden carbs maybe? Are you in ketosis? I’ve never heard of magnetic lashes! Hope you have a great week 🙂

      1. I can totally relate! And I refuse to buy new clothes in a different size, so I have incentive to lose!

  3. I hope that the new lashes work better. I think 10lbs lost so far is amazing! The diet sounds hard and I admire you for going on it, have a great week!
