Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

My reading hasn’t been that impressive lately. There is nothing to report as I am struggling just to get through A Court of Mist and Fury. I’m not enjoying it as much as I expected to. Perhaps I’m just in a reading rut? I barely finished The Chosen (Black Dagger Brotherhood #15) by J.R. Ward, which I thought was OK but I DNF’d Arcana Rising. I gave up on Arcana Chronicles series because I decided it wasn’t worth my time anymore. It had to be the YA factor coupled with the narrator’s voice that got on my last nerve. Emma Galvin’s voice sometimes sounds a bit coarse like a brillo pad, although I did like her in Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.

I started on the Master Cleanse and Sunday will be Day 5 of fasting strictly on freshly squeezed organic lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. I also do the salt water cleanse in the morning. I’ve done this cleanse before and have had good results. The first time I did it for ten days, and I felt great. This time around I’ve had light headaches, and I developed a stye in my eye, but it is going away. Things like this are to be expected to get better and release toxins out of your body. The reason I’m doing it is that I feel my diabetes is out of control and I want to get my health back. I have type 2 diabetes and DO NOT want to take insulin! So, this is the only way I know that is going to help my diabetes. Already by the first day, I felt ten times better. I have long ways to go, but I intend to stick it out the full 10 days at least. I think the Ketogenic Diet is something to consider especially if you are diabetic.

  2. Wow-you only eat lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper for 10 days? That sounds super impossible for me! Good luck! I am glad it has worked for you before. That probably makes it easier!

You only need the right motivation and nothing is impossible. It’s never easy , like losing weight or overcoming an addiction. It takes discipline and endurance. It’s day 5 and I feel great. I slept until 10 am this morning so that is good news 🙂

I love the Arcana Chronicles, although I’m reading, not listening. Narrators on audiobooks can totally ruin it for me. So I understand that. Hope you have a great week!

Don't Eat That

The food pyramid is a lie, meat fat is good for you, and many (if not most) health problems are treatable with diet alone. I'm in remission from severe arthritis (multiple joints replaced), chronic fatigue, depression and a plethora of other symptoms from changing how I eat. This blog chronicles how my family and my parents eat and what it's done for us.
