Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer aka Kimberley.

Last week Jan 22nd on Jackie’s Forget Me Nots

This week I didn’t watch anything good on Netflix to the variable of Shadowhunter/S2.E4. The directing still sucks.

In Other News

Mary Tyler Moore died. “She could turn the world on with her smile, she could take a lonely day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile.” Lol, Most of you guys probably don’t remember that show, but I used to watch it. I am still younger than Mary by a short lifetime.

Book News

It felt like time went by so fast this week.
I got two books from the library, The Arcana Chronicles books 2&3 and made recommendations for some audiobooks hoping that maybe someone else would appreciate listening to the audiobook as well!
I managed my reading challenges and wrote a book review for Endless Knight.

I also bought the most expensive Kindle book I own for $19.99 CDN!

I have another book on hold to pick up at the library tomorrow.I can’t wait for this one. Fateful sounds exciting taking us out to sea.

A tragic tale about falling in love on the world’s most infamous ill-fated sea voyage as heroine, Tess, discovers darker secrets that lie beneath the doomed crossing. and a hidden brotherhood that threatens to tear her lover from her forever.

In Food News

I made a salad from a new recipe I found on youtube. It looked good and didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t great either. I might’ve put in too much almond butter:/
1 napa cabbage chopped
1/4 head of red cabbage chopped
1/4 c carrots shredded
1/4 cucumber diced
2 tbsp raw almonds minced
2 green onions diced
1/4 c cilantro minced
juice 1/2 lime

4tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp coconut amino’s
1/8 tsp (each) garlic & ginger powder
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp maple syrup

Here is a list of book tubers that I liked watching this week.

Subscribe to them and show them some love. I look at their videos because it takes the monotony out of my day.

I hope everyone else’s week was more exciting than mine :/

I was sorry to see Mary Tyler Moore go.

  2. It was sad about Moore. The salad recipe looks good. Thanks for sharing the YouTube links 🙂 Happy reading.

The salad isn’t hard to make but it is good, you should try it. Thanks for visiting me this week

  3. I very clearly remember the Mary Tyler Moore show…even the Dick Van Dyke show in the early sixties. But the MTM show was my favorite. I always loved her in some movies I have watched over the years.

I just noticed in your sidebar that you were born on a Sunday. So was I! Yay for Sunday’s children. Have you ever seen the Days of the Week ditty? I have a miniature doll wearing the Sunday’s Child verse.

I haven’t read any of these books, but they look tempting. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

I liked the movie Jackie, overall, but I didn’t think Natalie was the best one to portray her…the accent was wrong, IMO.

yes, too bad about Moore. 😦 The cover of Fateful is AWESOME! I love that recipe thanks for sharing I’ll try it soon. Love cabbage and almonds 🙂 I wish I could eat ONLY raw food but I’ve tried and not fully there yet. Good for you for doing it!

    1. Jackie says:

Oh hey, I don’t only eat raw food btw. I am a meat eater, therefore, eat cooked food. Thank you for visiting me this week, and I hope you try the recipe. Enjoy the weekend.

I know it’s so sad about Mary Tyler Moore.. and then John Hurt. The bad news just keeps coming. I finished the final season of Continuum on Netflix this weekend. It only got added to Netflix Australia recently and I needed to rewatch some of the previous seasons to remind myself what had happened!

So sad about Mary Tyler Moore. I loved her show and agree with your sentiments about her. Nice haul of books. I can’t make myself buy an ebook that costs that much. Been tempted though. LOL

  7. $20 for a kindle book! Yikes! But it’s a whole series? I like that cover of Fateful though. And your salad sounds delicious! I love salads.

  8. Definitely sad about Mary Tyler Moore. It didn’t get much attention…not the attention Carrie Fisher’s death got. I guess it could be that my Facebook is filled with people of my generation, though. At least for $19.99 you got more than one book, it looks like.

  9. I really hope you are enjoying the study series! I loved it!! 🙂

Also I keep meaning to start the Arcana books… One day!

Hope you have a lovely week and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week!
