Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Can’t Drive 55.” Take the third line of the last song you heard, make it your post title, and write for a maximum of 15 minutes. GO!

Highway Don’t Care
by Tim McGraw (ft. Keith Urban and Taylor Swift)

I spent new years eve with a bunch of people I didn’t really know but since they were friends (or so I thought) of my boyfriends, we’d decided to go and celebrate New Years Eve with them. I don’t drink or do drugs but there was going to be alcohol so I guess I was the designated driver except when things went wrong. I left.

I do not enjoy watching people get hammered, it’s a useless waste of time and I was getting annoyed and angry with Phil because he’d had too much to drink and wasn’t planning on quitting anytime soon. I wanted to leave so I got up, went to get my coat to show that I was ready to go but instead of taking the cue he just laughed it off when he saw me standing there looking all angry. I didn’t intend on being a debby downer so I left. Not before saying a few uncouth words of my own.
Somebody at the party had kindly offered to warm up my car being the middle of winter and there was snow and ice on the roads. My car was not in very good running condition .
With all the snow removed on my windshield I tried not to think about what went wrong . When Phil sobered he would be able to make it home somehow later on New Years day so I didn’t worry too much about that. Instead I was worried if I was going to make it home . As I was nearing Glenmore Trail my car was already on the brink of dying. I had to pull over on the side of the road to cool the engine down because my oil light was on and my car wouldn’t run faster then 40 mile an hour. I know it wasn’t low on oil but I did find out later that the oil pan had a hole in it and I think it’s a pretty dangerous situation when your oil gets into the gas tank.

My hands were shaking from anger and fear of not making it home. The car stalled a couple of times but I made it home in one piece .

Don't Eat That

The food pyramid is a lie, meat fat is good for you, and many (if not most) health problems are treatable with diet alone. I'm in remission from severe arthritis (multiple joints replaced), chronic fatigue, depression and a plethora of other symptoms from changing how I eat. This blog chronicles how my family and my parents eat and what it's done for us.
