In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “The Young and the Rested.”

When was the last time you felt truly 
rejuvenated and energized? What made you 
feel that way?

I always feel as though my body has recharged itself after a good amount of sleep and after I drink a tall glass of water to flush out my system, I feel like I could run a marathon. Ya, it’s pretty darn craptastic. Our body does so much work while we sleep and all we have to do is eat the right food for fuel. Example: watermelon! Ya, I am grateful for that.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for your body to perform and function properly but I like to include protein as well found in chicken, tuna, eggs, bacon. No, I’m not a vegetarian. I made this pizza. The crust is cauliflower. Watch Dr. Bergs video on how to make it here.

I have dabbled into raw food and still enjoy eating that way, but lately, I have been incorporating a ketogenic diet. I think the Keto diet is great because I love butter and cheese, and sour cream and such. The Ketogenic diet is a low-carb high-fat lifestyle. They say by restricting carbs you can lose weight. Carbs are also dangerous for diabetics and fruit.sdsberryactual Although I will never believe fruit is bad for anyone even if you have diabetes. Eating fruit could save your life. Why would anyone say fruit makes you fat, but offer them a candy bar when their blood sugar is low? What nonsense!

Learning what foods are right for me and taking care of myself is my priority.
