Some people have thick skin. I don’t have an answer. Personally, I like the thrill and excitement I get from amusement rides. I have always liked the feeling I get from doing somersaults in the water or the high I get from swinging on a swing. Some people (not me) may like to watch scary movies because it’s unreal but what about the scary music in the background or the suspense that makes you jump? It may be that they are just stubborn as fuck and don’t get scared, but enjoy the adrenaline rush. Only I would prefer zip lining or bungee jumping over those kinds of images any day. I hate it when my boyfriend sneaks up on me. I jump, and my heart starts pumping faster everytime. Paybacks a bitch :p Wouldn’t it be the same for a psycho murderer to feel the adrenaline when he kills? hmm . I’m not a psychopath, and although horror is exaggerated, evil does exist, and I don’t like bloody scary images getting stuck in my head. I also hate the sound of a scream of sheer terror. I plug my ears. Sometimes I think horror is stupid, but I don’t like being scared. Horror movies and books to me are depressing influences putting me in a bad mood. It’ just not right. I must not have a great sense of humor, and I am easily scared. Don’t you think all that violence and horror influences bad behavior? Most of my growing up years I avoided that genre because of its creepy factor. I didn’t want to become intolerable and start lashing out at people. Scary things, even video games affect kids differently sometimes causing them to have nightmares. Right or wrong at least they could run like donkey kong.
One thing I’m sure of is that scary movies had a definite negative effect on me. I wish it weren’t the case, but I mean why wouldn’t it? I’m not a wuss for not wanting to be scared, only intelligent and smart 🙂 I have better things to do.
Here is the probable reason why some people like or don’t like to be scared.
Horror is still my least favorite genre.
