“What kind of story would you like me to tell you?”

Click Clacks

I’m supposed to write about the spookiest story I’ve heard around a campfire but I never went to camp or liked camping very much . Maybe greasy grimy gopher guts is as far as I can remember. However Click Clack the Rattle Bag by Neil Gaiman.is a story that I CAN IMAGINE listening to around a campfire.

AyeshaRubioAHRThose who are avid audible listeners might remember this from a couple years ago. Neil Gaiman is a prolific writer of childrens stories and he came up with this halloween tradition called All Hallows Read because he wants everyone to read a scary book. So he made Click Clack the Rattle Bag a free download for a short time.

It’s about a boy who wants to hear a scary bedtime story but he has a story of his own to tell. He says “Click Clacks are from the dark and are made of dark and they drink you.” What is left after they drink you and suck the guts out of you? Rattle bags left to hang like dry bones. He wasn’t an innocent little boy. Anyway. Click Clacks are things that go bump in the night and it’s only about 10 minutes long. It will leave your children’s teeth chattering and their bones rattling lol.

  1. This is seriously disturbing… naturally, I like it! I love when Audible does cool things like this, especially around Halloween, because that is my favorite time of the year!

  2. I remember hearing about that tradition last year but missed a lot of it. Good choice. Love the drawing too

Don't Eat That

The food pyramid is a lie, meat fat is good for you, and many (if not most) health problems are treatable with diet alone. I'm in remission from severe arthritis (multiple joints replaced), chronic fatigue, depression and a plethora of other symptoms from changing how I eat. This blog chronicles how my family and my parents eat and what it's done for us.
