In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “For Posterity.” Your blog just became a viral sensation. What’s the one post you’d like new readers to see and remember you by? Write that post.
If there is one catholic blog I like it would be Jennifer Fulwilers. She is a Catholic convert from Atheism who is on fire for Jesus. Recently she gave a talk at a SEEK conference where she was the women’s keynote speaker and her video and talk was simply amazing, that it brought tears to my eyes. I also think she is a strong devoted wife and mother to an adoring husband and her 6 children, who I might add, didn’t come without her share of adversity. I cannot help but be drawn into reading her blog because not only has she an amazing blog, she is a writer! Her book was published just last year . Something Other Than God. I can’t say I’ve read it yet but I want to. She also does the narrating if you want to hear it on audio. (Alas it isn’t available yet)
Anyway she is so inspiring that if there is one post I’d like new readers to see and remember me by, would be exactly what she spoke about in her video.
Jennifer Fulwiler – Girl on Fire (for women)
SEEK 2015 from Nashville, TN. Jan 1-5, 2015
If people could see something of a soft spoken peaceful compassionate, self-effaced, little, humble, patient, tolerant, meek, gentle, united, power of truth behind my blog then that is what I want them to remember. That I would be effaced with self-forgetfulness so that Jesus and/or Mary could shine or sparkle where only they can be seen.
Pondering the talk she gives, it brings to mind another author who I’ve had the priviledge of meeting and hearing firsthand. Vassula Ryden. She is a Spiritual Echo of Unity and Truth. Jennifer is a lot like Vassula, do you know why? I think it’s because they have learned to be self-effacing, and (they both have captivating inspirational life changing books!) Nevertheless when we efface ourselves this allows Jesus to shine more. Anyway if you want to be a good Christian example then listen to what the spirit says to the churches. Each and everyone one of us is a church. Thank you for listening 🙂
