“Fantasy is, at its best, the purest access to storytelling that we have . It universalizes a tale, it evokes wonder and timeless narrative power, it touches upon inner journeys, it illuminates our collective and individual pasts, throws a focus beam on the present day, and presages the dangers and promises of the future” – Guy Gavriel Kay
I’d like to introduce a reading holiday. You pick a book to read on that day and all you do is read as much as you can and then quote it, talk about it, and share it on your blog or plinky or wherever it is you like to hang out. Let the world know about READABOOKDAY!
I’m reading Karen Marie Monings Fever series book 1- DarkFever
MacKayla is young and naive who goes in search of her sisters murderer. She travels to Ireland , Dublin. There she starts seeing Fae monsters and with the impervious brute Jericho Barron , she gets herself involved in an incomprehensive mystery way over her head; something her sister had said before she died about “Shi-sadu”. I’m only at chapter nine but so far I don’t like Jericho for physically attacking MacKayla.
“My philosophy is pretty simple-any day nobody’s trying to kill me is a good day in my book. I haven’t had many good days lately.”
