Good Food Box

The Good Food Box came today. I ordered the box delivery a few weeks ago. It is a service provided by Calgary Community Kitchens made up of volunteers. They pack and deliver it to low-income people who want it. I paid $25 for a medium sized, and it includes strictly fruits and vegetables.

Two heads of iceberg lettuce,
One cucumber,
One cantaloupe,
One bag of apples,
One bag of oranges,
Four lemons,
One bag of kiwi,
One bag of tomatoes,
One head of broccoli,
One head of cauliflower,
One bunch of celery,
bag of potatoes,
One bag of carrots,
Two onions,
One bunch of green onions,
a few limes,
Two green peppers,
Two garlic heads. I’d say it was a decent grocery haul and I look forward to making some juices and salads and recipes. I found one on their website already. Asian Sesame Chicken Stir Fry.

I just hope nothing goes bad as I am overwhelmed with it all right now. I need to start packing it away in the fridge or make some beautiful salad. I suppose I can chop it all up and store the vegetables in containers and freeze some. It’s a responsible thing to do instead of it going all to waste. That would be a shame.

Better get packing….

Don't Eat That

The food pyramid is a lie, meat fat is good for you, and many (if not most) health problems are treatable with diet alone. I'm in remission from severe arthritis (multiple joints replaced), chronic fatigue, depression and a plethora of other symptoms from changing how I eat. This blog chronicles how my family and my parents eat and what it's done for us.
