Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

ImageWhat I Finished Reading

I’ve finished 2 out of the 3 books that I said I planned on reading this week. Which were If I Stay“, Morganville Vampires. I also read Where She Went by Gayle Forman and I rated these books a 3 out of 5 stars which means I liked them both but I didn’t think they were amazing. It is most likely due to the age factor. I am finding that most YA novels are just not doing it for me. I felt the same with Paranormalcy and the Need Series.

The other books in the Morganville Vampire series are on my to-read list definitely. I can tolerate these teenagers even the author :p 4 stars.

What I am Currently Reading.

Spiders Bite by Jennifer Estep is a totally different story and it’s right up my alley. I am loving it so far. Just as I enjoyed Hot Mama, I feel a connection with the author. I think I really like Jennifer Estep.

What I plan on reading

We’ll see. I’m going to have to pick up the next book in the Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep and Volume 1 of the Morganville Vampires idk.

I have other books I planned on getting in May like City of Lost Souls and Insurgent but I also have plenty of books on my shelf that I could start on but meh, like I said, we’ll have to see what I’m in the mood for.

I try to spread out my YA so I don’t get buried in similar plots. My favorite read this week was I am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley Please come see what else I’m reading.

    1. Jackie says:

Ok I’ll stop by soon 🙂

A sad little story from the library conference last year: I came that close to getting an ARC of Insurgent. That close. The publicist just ran out of copies when I walked up. 😦

I’m exactly the same with YA at the moment. I takes a lot for me to pick one up. The Morganville ones lasted the longest. I think it was book 7 or 8 I reached.

    1. Jackie says:

I’m not a young adult anymore so ya . I keep trudging through them , yawning sometimes wondering when something good will happen but Morganville vampires were Ok

  6. I’m curious about the Forman books…hope you have a great week!

    1. Jackie says:

Thanks. Have a great week yourself!

  7. I think YA novels are hit or miss. They are either AMAZING (Hunger Games or Maze Runner) or they are just OK and some are flat out embarrassing. I haven’t read the books you have mentioned, though.

    1. Jackie says:

I never read Maze Runner but they were recommended to me

  8. I’m not a huge YA fan either but there have been a few that make me smile.
Happy Reading this week! It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading??

    1. Jackie says:

Thank you ! It’s hard to tell the good ones from the not so good just by reading reviews these days.
